saying NO to GENOCIDE: Photographs from the Palestine solidarity protest marches in Sydney, Australia, 2023 to 2026
The photographs in this book document a story of profound outrage at the genocide in Gaza. Australians of all ages, and from a great diversity of ethnic, religious and class backgrounds, marched through the streets of Sydney between 2023 and 2026. They were protesting the terrible suffering of the Palestinian people as they faced relentless bombardment, sniping and drone attacks from Israeli forces.
The almost total destruction Gaza, and particularly the imposition of mass starvation, horrified Australians. But it was the plight of the Palestinian children, killed, mutilated and starved, which really struck a nerve. As these photographs show, large numbers of “ordinary Australians” were not prepared to stay silent in the face of genocide.
